Terms of Service

These terms describe use of the Yestern website, interest list, and private media libraries. By using the service, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.

The service

Yestern helps people experience family history through different forms of media. The public catalog contains illustrative experiences. Your eventual collection depends on available records, permissions, research, and the work agreed with you. The current private-library service delivers experiences prepared and added by an administrator.

Interest list and purchases

Joining the interest list allows the Yestern team to contact you about the service. It is not a purchase, booking, or guarantee of availability. Any paid work, pricing, delivery schedule, and cancellation or refund terms must be agreed separately before purchase.

Accounts

You must be an adult to register an account or join the interest list. Keep your credentials private, provide accurate account information, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account.

Your materials and private collections

You retain your rights in materials you supply. You give Yestern permission to store, process, and display those materials as needed to provide the services you request. This does not grant permission to publicly showcase your private collection. Only upload or provide content that you have the right to share, including information about other people.

Unless separately agreed, access to experiences is for personal and family use. Third-party photographs, recordings, records, and embedded media remain subject to their owners’ rights and applicable terms.

Historical accuracy

Records can be incomplete, contradictory, or mistaken. Reconstructions, colorizations, dramatizations, and AI-assisted media may include interpretation. Examples are not proof of your ancestry, and illustrative family connections are not verified genealogical findings. Source and context panels explain available evidence. Please report errors so they can be reviewed.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to access another member’s collection, interfere with the service, upload malicious or unlawful material, infringe others’ rights, or use the service to harass or misrepresent another person. We may restrict access when reasonably necessary to address abuse or security issues.

Availability and responsibility

Features and examples may change. External recordings and source websites may become unavailable. We do not promise uninterrupted access or that every family will have the same kinds of records or media. Nothing in these terms removes consumer rights or responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded.

Privacy, questions, and changes

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle information. We may update these terms as the service develops, and will give additional notice when required. Separate written agreements for commissioned work govern that work if they conflict with these general terms.

To ask a question or request access, correction, deletion, or removal from the interest list, email amierchery@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before acting on an account request.
